Statement
I’ve had the opportunity to work with many people across the Fermilab organization for at least 15 years. While I’m not a conventional user of one of the experimental facilities at Fermilab, or part of a large scale collaborations, I have worked extensively with Fermilab on a number of successful large projects, such as the Linac Coherent Light Source upgrade, LCLS-II at SLAC.
My interest in serving on the UEC is to bring a perspective from collaborators who do not work directly on experiments but work with many of the organizations that make Fermilab great and whose users and affiliates may not be as well represented by this committee.
I bring a unique perspective as someone who has spent 20 years across multiple Department of Energy (DOE) National Labs, as well as one in Germany, who now works in private industry. The view as an industrial partner being something that I believe can benefit the UEC as it works to ensure all users are treated well.
Bringing a view from outside of the DOE or University affiliations I believe will help strengthen the UEC and provide a broader perspective to support the users and the Laboratory.
