Government Relations
The Government Relations Subcommittee is responsible for the organization of an annual spring trip to Washington, D.C. to promote science and high energy physics (HEP) to members of the legislation and discuss with the Department of Energy (DOE) and the National Science Foundation (NSF) about the plans for the next years. For this, the P5 report is a helpful instrument to promote the plans of our community.
Users Meeting
The Users Meeting Subcommittee organizes the annual Fermilab Users Meeting. Its main task is to invite the whole scientific community once a year to show what new results were obtained by HEP at Fermilab or with Fermilab involvement. It highlights the past and future experiments and gives young scientists a platform to present themselves to the user community.
Education and Public Engagement
The Education and Public Engagement Subcommittee aims to broaden and enhance the existing education and public engagement efforts at the lab through user participation and raise science literacy in general public, educators, and students internationally through various stimulating science and technology education and outreach programs.
Quality of Life
The Quality of Life Subcommittee aims to improve the quality of life for users at Fermilab. The subcommittee’s mission is to find new methods, or improve existing programs, to increase the interaction, visibility and further the careers of young physicists.
