Statement
I am postdoc at the University of Wisconsin-Madison working on the MINOS+ and NOvA experiments. I have been Fermilab user since 2012 when I first visited as an undergraduate student. As a graduate student I would spend every summer at the lab until I moved there for the last two years of my PhD.
During my time onsite I enjoyed organizing regular Neutrino Socials at the Frontier Pub to help early career users connect with senior professionals from across the lab community. I also had the privilege of serving as a Fermilab Student and Postdoc Association (FSPA) officer where I worked to create a welcoming environment for early career users, helping to organize social and professional events in collaboration with the UEC. As an FSPA officer I served on the UEC Quality of Life committee, and I was focused on the needs of those who live in the Fermilab village and call the lab home.
As a member of the UEC I want to continue to advocate for all users bringing my perspective as an early career scientist. Working primarily off-site in recent years, I have noticed and experienced frustration with accessing lab resources and the transparency of changes that affect all users. These experiences are why I want to re-engage with the Quality of Life committee to address the needs of users both on and off-site to ensure all users have access to the resources and information they need. In doing so I hope to help create a welcoming lab where all users have the opportunity to do their best science.
